Should you buy YouTube subscribers to reach 1,000?

The monetisation maths, and why buying fails it

Subscribers are the most expensive thing we sell, because they are the hardest to source and the most closely audited. Almost everyone looking for them has the same goal: the 1,000-subscriber line on the way to monetisation. That is the one thing buying subscribers will not reliably do for you, and it is worth knowing why before spending three figures.

The YouTube Partner Programme needs 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last twelve months or 10 million valid Shorts views in ninety days.

Subscribers are the easy half. Watch hours are the hard half, and money cannot buy them. Four thousand hours is 240,000 minutes of real viewing that passes YouTube's checks. Bought subscribers do not watch anything. They are accounts that pressed subscribe, so buying your way to 1,000 leaves the real constraint untouched.

It can be worse than that. Applications are reviewed, and part of the review looks at whether a channel's growth fits its engagement. A channel with 1,000 subscribers and videos averaging 40 views is an obvious mismatch, so buying the subscriber half can make an application look worse than not applying yet.

If monetisation is the goal, buying subscribers will not get you there and may set you back. We would rather lose the order than have you spend $117 on a misunderstanding.

What subscribers are good for

Credibility with people rather than with the algorithm. A channel with 12 subscribers reads as abandoned. The same channel with 1,500 reads as a going concern. For a business channel, a portfolio, or anyone whose channel gets checked by a person before a decision, that difference is worth money.

Getting past the empty-shop problem. New viewers are more willing to subscribe to a channel others have already subscribed to. The first thousand is the hardest to earn organically and matters most psychologically.

Collaboration and sponsorship conversations. Other creators and small brands glance at subscriber counts before replying to a collaboration request. A believable count gets the conversation started. Your views and content have to carry it from there.

None of those is monetisation. All of them are fair reasons to want the number higher.

The risks, stated plainly

Subscriber counts are audited. YouTube removes accounts it decides are inauthentic, and the count falls with them. Some drop is normal on every service at every price.

Monetised channels carry the real exposure. If a channel is in the Partner Programme, inflating metrics risks removal from it, and income is a lot to risk for presentation.

Ratio problems are easier to see on YouTube than on other platforms, because subscriber counts and view counts sit side by side. A thousand subscribers with videos averaging 30 views is plain to anyone.

And the usual one: nobody needs your Google password. A YouTube channel sits on a Google account tied to your email, your documents and perhaps your payment methods. Delivery goes to a public channel URL, and any service asking for your login should be closed immediately.

How to buy sensibly, if you are going to

Buy in proportion to your views. If your videos average 200 views, a few hundred subscribers is plausible. Two thousand is not.

Buy gradually. A thousand subscribers appearing on a Tuesday is the clearest possible signal. Spread over a week or more, growth just looks like growth.

Choose the better tier. Subscribers are where the quality gap is widest, because aged accounts with real history survive audits and fresh ones do not. Ours are $117.50 per 1,000 on High Quality and $184.49 on Premium, and the gap reflects a real difference in the accounts behind them.

Do not do it at all on a monetised channel, or on one close to applying.

Test small. A hundred subscribers cost $11.75 and show you the delivery speed and the drop rate, which are the two things that really differ between sellers.

What reaches 1,000 subscribers for real

Videos that answer a question someone typed. Search-led videos gather subscribers slowly and permanently, because someone who found an answer has a reason to come back.

A consistent format. Subscribing is a bet on future videos, and a channel where every video is different gives people nothing to bet on.

Asking at the right moment. The most reliable improvement most channels can make is asking for the subscribe once the viewer has already got something useful, not in the first ten seconds.

Thumbnails and titles, which decide whether anyone sees the video at all.

None of this is fast, which is why the market for bought subscribers exists. It is still the only route to a subscriber count that comes with watch hours attached.
